And then there were two – Christmas dive

Every year our final event is a dive at Eccleston Delph and a meal afterwards.

This year we had sixteen signed up for the meal and eight for the dive. We were all set to go, deposits paid and kit ready, when divers started going down with various illnesses until we ended up with one diver standing at Eccy hoping there was still a buddy standing and turning up.

Fortunately Neil arrived, kit at the ready. We waited for a bit but decided that it was just us so started kitting up. Brad arrived during this time to act as shore watch.

The dive was half hour long and visibility was between 4/5 meters. We completed the standard route (armoured car, boat, plane, bath tub, van, etc) and surfaced to find a few more members had arrived (Jen, Rik, Ian and Ian).

After the dive we headed to The Plough at Euxton to meet up with everyone else and end the year with good food and good company.

Thanks to Brad for the photos and which went into making the video.

I have always loved the sea and diving gives me that little bit of extra special interaction. I love diving anywhere and always find sites interesting and an exhilarating activity, constantly enhancing and improving my skills and knowledge. My favourite diving has to be around the British Isles and in particular St Abbs. It has everything, the sea life, the socialising, the history and the thrill. TSAC has opened up many areas and opportunities for me and hopefully will continue to do so in the future. Here’s to the next adventure.
