Sale leisure centre promo day

Sale leisure centre promo day

Saturday 17th of May was our second club promotion day after the success of Urmston’s promo day. This time we based ourselves at Sale leisure centre.

Setting up began at 8am in readiness to catch the early swimming sessions. We had much of our previous display material but this time, after evaluating our previous promo day, we launched a few new ideas in order to further engage visitors and to specifically target them joining our club.

The set up included a series of videos from club members highlighting trips they had been involved in. These were played at the point where queues for sessions were waiting and generated a great deal of interest.

Besides introducing our club and making people aware of who we are and where we are based, we had try dives on offer with people signing up to have a go. It’s always a good omen when people come and say ‘I want to learn to dive’.

One item we introduced was a small brochure that gave people more information about the club. This received positive feedback and, while we know, many will be discarded, it still gives people the opportunity to make a decision on joining us in their own time. It also means that we are getting our name out to the local community.

Overall the day was enjoyable and we definitely made sure that the local community were aware of our presence.

In addition we signed several people up for try dives and have brought in a few lapsed divers who may consider re-joining the diving community through our club.

Thanks to everyone who helped out during the day and to Sale Leisure centre and it’s staff for accommodating us.

I have always loved the sea and diving gives me that little bit of extra special interaction. I love diving anywhere and always find sites interesting and an exhilarating activity, constantly enhancing and improving my skills and knowledge. My favourite diving has to be around the British Isles and in particular St Abbs. It has everything, the sea life, the socialising, the history and the thrill. TSAC has opened up many areas and opportunities for me and hopefully will continue to do so in the future. Here’s to the next adventure.
