Rathlin Island
Rathlin is one of the go to dive areas of GreatBritain. A small island off the north coast of Northern Ireland it holds a place in diving folklore as a spectacular site and one of the places to dive.
It has long been associated with classic world war 2 deep wrecks and spectacular walls and copious marine life.
When proposed dive club members jumped at the chance to join Nick and Debbie’s trip. They journeyed to Ballycastle and settled in to the daily routine of catch the boat at Ballcastle, dive, lunch at Rathlin, dive and back to shore.
The regular dives took place and, HMS Drake, Lochgarry and several scenic dives.
Evenings were spent enjoying Guinness and good food. One of the high spots was the curry prepared by the best curries for mealtime on a fantastic evenings post dive (and pub!) collaboration.
Huge thanks to Anthony, Phil, Phil and Ray for being chefs.
Thanks to Nick and Debbie for organising a fantastic trip and good luck in their new club
