Loch Fyne – RHIB diving

Loch Fyne – RHIB diving

What a weekend for club diving, Plymouth with two hard boats and Loch Fyne with the two club RHIBs.

It’s great to be back in action again and to be using the club’s resources.

Team Loch Fyne

Having had the RHIBs and the trailers serviced it was a green light for the weekend. Trailers hitched, kit checked, beer keg safely stowed of we went up the M6 and on for the 6 hour drive to the accommodation, The Anchor Hotel.

The weekend was an excuse to get the RHIBs in open water and use the skills and courses to good effect. It would also give us a chance o introduce the boats and training to new members of the club. We also hoped to have a couple a dives in the Loch and introduce RHIB diving.

Having settled in we opened the keg and got out the charts to do some planning and to choose a couple of sites to try. What was great is that we had a mix of instructors, new divers and experienced divers to help with planning.

The first day dawned and bright sunshine with very little wind made for a good start. After doing a final check of the RHIBs we got them into the water. Engines fired up and off we went on a flat calm Loch Fyne. Once the day was done we headed back to the slip ways cleaned down and headed for a beer and some good food

The weekend proved to be an excellent experience and gave us a chance to use the skills developed in the classroom and the confined water practice. It also gave a chance for new members to meet with established members and develop as divers.

A good team a good weekend.

I have always loved the sea and diving gives me that little bit of extra special interaction. I love diving anywhere and always find sites interesting and an exhilarating activity, constantly enhancing and improving my skills and knowledge. My favourite diving has to be around the British Isles and in particular St Abbs. It has everything, the sea life, the socialising, the history and the thrill. TSAC has opened up many areas and opportunities for me and hopefully will continue to do so in the future. Here’s to the next adventure.
