Capernwray training day

Capernwray training day

Our monthly training day at Capernwray rolled around and this time it was the turn of Jack (our membership secretary) to organise his first event. As with every event, the emails and Whatsapp messages had been sent out and the TSAC troops gathered.

With all these events its always good to see the use made of the depth of expertise the club has at it’s disposal.

Some met early to organise kit but at about 10:15 we had a quick introductory briefing and then we began organising our seperate activities.

  • Two new members (Danny and Aiden) arrived just to see what training was all about and to have a brew with a slice of Jens cake.
  • Simon began the second phase of the OD training and, after a few hold ups, successfully completed his first two open water training dives.
  • Mel and Danny completed a shake down dive.
  • DL work was completed by Richard, Jack and supported by Rik.
  • Lisa and Steve had a leisure dive easing themselves back into the water.
  • Jen ran an extremely useful and effective rescue exercie.
  • Debbie did the shore watch.
  • Alf helped out with training and stepped in after a suit makfunction.

Overall a very busy and successful day which showed off the enthusiasm of club members and the desire to improve the club.

Thanks to all involved and thanks in particular to Jack who organised the day.

I have always loved the sea and diving gives me that little bit of extra special interaction. I love diving anywhere and always find sites interesting and an exhilarating activity, constantly enhancing and improving my skills and knowledge. My favourite diving has to be around the British Isles and in particular St Abbs. It has everything, the sea life, the socialising, the history and the thrill. TSAC has opened up many areas and opportunities for me and hopefully will continue to do so in the future. Here’s to the next adventure.
