Awards Night meal
Awards night is always a special night for the club. It is the chance to celebrate our success as a club and to congratulate those members who have stood out during the past year.
This year was no exception giving us many reasons to celebrate and look forward to a new year.
The venue was the Italian Job in Urmston, a family run business with a large upstairs events room.
The evening began at 7 with some socialising followed by a sit down meal. Choices ranged from calamari, mozzarella and tomato, steak, pasta, finished off with tiramisu.
Following on from the meal the club Chair and Secretary presented the club Awards to the nominated members:
- Divers diver of the year – Lisa Kean
- Diver of the year – Lewis Renshall
- Novice diver of the year – Simon Johnson

We followed this with the photography competition, with winners chosen by Geoff (Aqualogistics owner), these were all scooped by Jack Irlam.
The final procedure was the raffle with wine, chocolates, vouchers from Aqualogistics and the star prize donated by Aqualogitics.
With the formalities over the dancing and socialising began including the annual competitive whisky and washer game. A slow start soon ramped up as Debbie and Andy went head to head in an attempt to win the whisky. The competition was then joined by several other players all vying to be the closest to the bottle. The eventual winner (Jack) was knocked into first place with three minutes to go.

The new style event was well attended and a really enjoyable evening with good food, good competition and a good club focus.
Lets hope 2026 brings the same result.
