3rd Annual BBQ

3rd Annual BBQ

This year we moved the BBQ forward due to the number of summer dive trips taking place in August.
Once again we were using the double decker bus and the facilities of Springfield Junior School for the event, thanks to our chair, Paula. It’s a great setting in the middle of Sale. A good field and dry area is available, a BBQ area, seating, tables, toilets and the double decker means there is open a space and shelter if the rains come.o

Fortunately for us the predicted rain did not appear and in actual fact we ended up with good weather for the duration of the BBQ, if a little bit windy and cloudy.

Four of us arrived early and set the tables up, got the coals going and waited for people to arrive. After a small search and a bit of trail and error we got the music working. The offer of free food, free drinks and good company paid dividends and over 30 members arrived including our longest standing member, JU.

Several burgers and sausages later Igor arrived with extra and introduced us to Polish Sausage and spices, this meant that more food was consumed, with this becoming a definite favourite and a must for next years event.

As usual, with the club, members stayed to help tidy up and leave the area as we found it.

Thanks to Paul, Paul, Paula, Lias and Simon for all the effort and planning.

I have always loved the sea and diving gives me that little bit of extra special interaction. I love diving anywhere and always find sites interesting and an exhilarating activity, constantly enhancing and improving my skills and knowledge. My favourite diving has to be around the British Isles and in particular St Abbs. It has everything, the sea life, the socialising, the history and the thrill. TSAC has opened up many areas and opportunities for me and hopefully will continue to do so in the future. Here’s to the next adventure.
