DL success and more
It’s always a good feeling to be able to celebrate success with members of the club and gaining the Dive Leader qualification is definitely one to celebrate.
Tom and Lewis have (after 6 years) completed their DL qualification. This was started and signed off through their their original club, Sheffield University) and supported by TSAC instructors over the last few years.

In addition there are a few more notes of congratulations to pass on.
Marshal and Lisa (our TO) have passed their DL exams and are now on the way to becoming dive leaders in their own right.
The DL course is a significant step up for divers so well done to all, The BSAC Dive Leader course consists of five assessed theory modules, five open water training dives and three practical lessons and includes the following modules;
- Role of the BSAC Dive Leader
- Dive Planning and Management
- Delayed Surface Marker Buoy (DSMB) use (midwater deployment)
- Dive leading demonstrations
- Basic life support with Oxygen administration
- Practical management of diving incidents
- Casualty assessment
- Dive planning
- Shot recovery by simple lift
- Review of rescue skills
A final note of congratulations goes to Simon (on the left), our new trainee. He has successfully completed all the confined water skills, for the Ocean Diver course, and is moving on to Capernwray very soon whilst completing the online theory course in his spare time.
