Salon de la Plongee 2025 (the return)

Having successfully negotiated last years journey we decided to return for another visit to the Paris Dive show. This time we had five members of the club making the journey to investigate the dive show delights.

We left from Paula’s house at 5:30am and drove to the airport through the -8C temperatures, parked up and were soon sitting in the bar ordering breakfast and sitting back waiting to be called. After Paul had acquired a new pair of glasses we boarded the plane and were soon landing in Paris heading for the train. This proved difficult as the station was closed but an efficient shuttle bus system was in place taking us to the Cite Universitaire tram stop. 6 stops later we arrived at the exhibition venue (Porte de Versailles).

Being old practitioners of the dive show experience we followed the usual practice.

  • Walk the complete show and identify stalls of interest
  • Stop off on the way to discuss various items and compare ideas
  • Stop off at the cafe for lunch
  • Arrange to meet later once we are done
  • Split off and head to specific stalls to look at shiny things and dive venues

Besides talks and stalls we were also entertained by a dancing carnival making its way round the crowded isles.

At 4pm we returned and compared our purchases while we waited for Jack, who was stuck in a queue trying to pay for a wetsuit.

Leaving at 4:30 we reversed the journey, had a delicious French McDonalds and were back in England for 10pm

Anyone interested in joining us for next years trip?

I have always loved the sea and diving gives me that little bit of extra special interaction. I love diving anywhere and always find sites interesting and an exhilarating activity, constantly enhancing and improving my skills and knowledge. My favourite diving has to be around the British Isles and in particular St Abbs. It has everything, the sea life, the socialising, the history and the thrill. TSAC has opened up many areas and opportunities for me and hopefully will continue to do so in the future. Here’s to the next adventure.
