TSAC’s 50th Anniversary event list
Listed below are all the events for the 50th Anniversary year.
Please make sure you put them in your diary/on your fridge/in your calendar and try to attend as many as possible.
DIVE CHALLENGE – Year long
This is a yearlong challenge and starts on January 1st. It is an individual or group dive challenge
The challenge. Can you do 50 dives in the year to celebrate the 50th anniversary?
You are all receiving a logbook (enclosed) specifically to record the event.
There are three sections to the challenge
Gold – An individual who completes 50 or more dives in 2023
Silver – A buddy pair who complete 50 or more dives in 2023
Bronze – A team of four who complete 50 or more dives in 2023
There will be a prize for all those completing the challenge.
Once completed please return your booklet to the club secretary and he will get the book signed off by the DO (booklet enclosed with the letter). This must be done by our AGM in 2024.
50 DOWN – Year long
Over the year we are aiming to record the location of dives completed and record 50 different sites/areas. Hopefully we will have 50 different places.
FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION DIVE – Sunday 19th February 10:00am
The date of the first ever official TSAC logged dive is February 19th, 1973, at Ecclestone Delph (before it became a dive centre).
On Sunday February 19th we will have a dive (50 minutes if possible) and meal (similar to the Christmas dive). If you wish to dive, great, if not come along for a brew and the meal afterwards.
We would like as many people as possible to come along, so the committee has decided to pay the entrance fee for any divers wishing to take part, you WILL have to pay your own membership fee, £10 for renewal or £15 if you’ve never dived here before, Jen will be bringing post dive cake.
So, Steve will need to know if you are diving, just having a meal or doing both.

QUIZ @ 50 – Wednesday 29th March 8:00pm start
Quiz night at the John Alker. You need a team of four to enter, (these can be non divers, friends and family). We can make up teams on the night. There will be some great prizes on offer and first drink of the evening is on the committee. There will also be snacks.
50 BELOW – Saturday 8th July 9:00am
50 dives in on one day. What would be great is if we could get 50 divers in at one point, however, we realise this may be a problem, so we want to do 50 dives in one day.
This will take place at Capernwray on 8th July (allocated as one of our training days) please try and make yourself available for that day. We aim to try and get permission to enter a bit earlier, watch this space for timings.
CELEBRATION EVENING – Saturday 4th November 6:30 pm
The celebration event will take place in November, and we will combine this with our Awards night. The date is going to be Saturday November 4th. New and old members will be invited, and we will make it something special so please put the date into your diary.
CLUB CLOTHING
We have also organised some clothing for club members to commemorate the years activities (there is a copy of the order form attached).
